Shining a light on what your hands can do

A trade is about more than the finished product. There are the gestures learned over time, the material you work with, the tools, the details you check almost instinctively, and all those steps your customers don't always see. That's exactly what I love to photograph.

I aim to show the hand, the material and the precision of the gesture, but also the person behind the skill. Depending on your business, I can alternate wide shots, portraits in situ, very tight framing and macro shots to reveal details that are sometimes invisible at first glance.

The aim is not just to get beautiful photographs, but to create a series of images that truly tells the story of your trade, for your website, social media, communication, press or printed materials.

Showing what often goes unnoticed

Some trades take on their full dimension up close. A hand guiding a tool, the marks left in a material, a weld, a seam, an engraving, a few tenths of a millimetre on a mechanical part or the final finish on an object can sometimes say more than a general photograph.

When it genuinely adds something to the image, I use lenses dedicated to close-up and macro photography to offer different viewpoints and highlight the meticulousness of your work.

Conversely, I also step back far enough to show your workshop and your surroundings, and put these gestures in context.

What about video?

Photography can be complemented by video. The movement of a tool, the sound of a machine, a material being transformed or simply a few words from the craftsperson take the discovery of a trade even further.

Depending on the project, I can make:

• a short vertical video for social media;
• a video portrait of the craftsperson;
• a film presenting your workshop and your skills;
• a follow-up of a piece being made, from start to finish;
• an interview combined with footage of your work.

From €250

For a longer production, several interviews or a shoot requiring special organisation, a tailored proposal will be prepared together.

RAW files

The selected and edited photographs are the main delivery. If you'd also like to keep the RAW files from the shoot, they can be handed over:

• at no extra cost if you have the storage needed to receive them;
• or with suitable storage space provided as an option.

As RAW files are unprocessed and particularly large, their volume can quickly reach several tens or hundreds of gigabytes depending on the service.

Travel

The rates shown are for a service in Seine-Maritime, travel included.

Is your workshop further away? No problem, I'm happy to travel! We simply need to plan for the journey and, when the distance calls for it, somewhere to stay nearby. Two options, whichever suits you best:

• travel, accommodation and meals are added to the service;
• or accommodation is taken care of directly on your side (on site, at your home or in a place you book), and only travel and meals are added.

We'll simply talk it through together, and everything is clearly set out before booking.

That's exactly what interests me. Joinery, cabinetmaking, ironwork, mechanics, restoration, sewing, jewellery, ceramics, leatherwork, building trades, agriculture, artistic crafts or skills that are harder to categorise: every activity has its own gestures and its own details.

How to book?

1. First conversation — you tell me about your business and what you'd like to show.
2. Proposal — I confirm availability and the most suitable package.
3. Contract and deposit — the booking becomes final once the proposal is approved, the contract is signed and the requested deposit is paid.
4. The shoot — the session takes place directly in your working environment, then the images are delivered within the agreed timeframe.
